Documents Required for 12AB & 80G Registration

  • Form 10A for registration 12AB
  • Form 10G for registration 80G
  • Registration Certificate & MoA in case of Section 8 Company and Society
  • Trust Deed in case of a Trust
  • Address proof where the organization is registered
  • Copy of PAN of the NGO
  • Copy of Utility bills like electricity bill, water bill, etc.

Procedure of Registration 12AB Certificate

Application for 12AB registration has been made in Form 10A which is laid down in Rule 17A of the Income Tax Department Act, 1962. It should be submitted to the Chief Judicial Commissioner or Commissioner of Income-tax (Exemption) along with proper documents.

After receiving the application for registration, the commissioner verifies the documents and authenticity of the NGO activities. Then he can call you for additional documents and other information that is important or necessary.

After verification, the Commissioner passes an order in writing for the grant of 12AB Registration. If the Commissioner is not satisfied, he will reject the application, after which the applicant is provided a fair chance to be heard.

Procedure of Registration 80G Certificate

Applications for 80G registration are completed at 10G. It should be submitted to the Chief Judicial Commissioner or Income Tax Commissioner (Exemption) along with proper documents.

After verification and selection, the commissioner issued a written order for 60G registration. If the Commissioner is not satisfied, he will reject the application, after which the applicant is given a fair chance to be heard.
